    Dr. John Berry, DVM

    Owner/Veterinarian
Dr. Berry was born in Texas but was primarily raised in Walnut Creek, California. He moved to Washington in October 1992.

Dr. Berry worked at Marine World Africa USA where he cared for large cats, elephants, and a huge variety of zoo animals which further enhanced his confidence and abilities working with non traditional pets.

Dr. Berry was an accomplished athlete and received a full scholarship to USC for football as an inside linebacker. At USC, he was fortunate to play with Marcus Allen, Jack DelRio, Bruce Matthews, Riki Ellison, Joey Browner and many other potential future Hall of Fame players.   Dr. Berry was Academic All American in 1983.

He received a degree in Biological Sciences and was accepted to Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine. Following his graduation from Purdue he moved back to the west coast and worked for 2 1/2 years in Petaluma, California before starting the Lynden Veterinary Hospital in November of 1992.  Dr. Berry had always kept his love of the unusual pets, as well as dogs and cats, which has now become a big part of the veterinary profession due to the public's demand for more non-traditional pets.

Dr Berry believes in being the best at whatever he pursues. This has led to Lynden Vet's state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic equipment offering the most modern service one can find in Northwest Washington State.

Dr Berry is blessed to have married Shannon and have four wonderful children; Annika, Jack, Mia, and John Jr.   Dr. Berry enjoys coaching  and playing sports with his kids.  Exercise and bicycling is part of his routine.  The Berry's have a menagerie of pets including many dogs, cats, reptiles, chickens, and a ferret .
